Hi,

I was just working on a customer solution which may involve them getting a 2nd server.

I don't know about ye guys but I find MS Volume Licensing a hard sell so I usually spec OEM.

I was thinking about the 2nd server in SBS 2008 Premium OEM and how it would be licensed - does it need to be a new server as is usual for single server OEM licenses?

OR could you buy a new server with SBS 2008 Premium, migrate your old SBS 2003 to this, redeploy the old server with Win Svr 2008????

By extension, I suppose the same question would apply to EBS 2008.

Thanks

-Ivan

Hi Ivan, I had not forgotten about you.
I was talking to Sean Daniels and what I have been told is that you can buy SBS 2K8 Premium with a new server and recycle the old server for use with the extra Windows 2008 Std license.
Hope this helps,
David

Excellent.

Any news on any new migration tools?

I hope that the SBS team will find a nice easy way for us to migrate from SBS 2003 to 2008 (without having to do a swing migration).

Thanks
